Nashville Predators Looking to Trade Forward

The Nashville Predators are in an interesting spot. They have a 26-22-6 record and sit right in the middle of the Central Division and because of that, the Predators are looking to make moves. It looks like they are receiving interest in a trade including Tanner Jeannot.

Predators Looking To Trade Jeannot

According to Larry Brooks, the Predators would be willing to engage in a trade with several NHL teams regarding Tanner Jeannot if they are sellers, and can’t work out anything extension-wise with the 25-year-old.

So far this season, Jeannot has 14 points in 54 games this season, along with 84 penalty minutes. This would be Jeannot’s second full season in the NHL, as he spent parts of the 2020-2021 season with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals.

The New York Rangers, who are mentioned in the tweet, are also one of the parties interested in Jeannot. He could be a replacement bottom six-piece they can add, or even rotate in and out for the playoffs.

What This Means

Regarding an extension, the Predators will be near the end of any negotiations with Tanner Jeannot, and could be looking to trade him. If they were to trade him to the Rangers, they have a few options to choose from. However, they may be limited to next year due to the Vladimir Tarasenko trade that took place not too long ago. A trade to New York would add more depth to the Rangers’ bottom six, and give Nashville some draft capital.

Although, Nashville could extend Jeannot, and keep him as a younger piece of their roster, as he is only 25. Although, that is uncertain what decision they will make.
