Welcome back to NHL Rumours. Today we will be discussing the Calgary Flames and some moves they are looking to make. The Flames have had a very surprising offseason. They signed star free agent Nazem Kadri, and traded longtime forward Sean Monahan.
It now looks like the Flames are regretting that move, as according to Elliotte Friedman, the Flames are looking for a secondary offensive forward.

The Flames have gotten off to a less-than-favorable start so far. With the offense not being as earth-shattering as once thought, and the goaltending being less than expected.
That, adding on wanting to gear up for a Stanley Cup run over the summer. This has them wanting to acquire a second top 6 forward who can provide some much-needed offense.

What This Means
For the Flames, this essentially means replacing the likes of Sean Monahan, who they sent to the Montreal Canadiens in a trade they made over the offseason.
although Nazem Kadri and Tyler Toffoli have been recording a lot of quality points for the Flames, they still need the offensive production they are hoping to get out of Jonathan Huberdeau.
considering the Flames haven’t been on the start they wanted, they could make the push for a player like Mike Hoffman as the trade deadline approaches. or the deal could be coming up soon, as Hoffman has had an uptick in scoring recently, notching 3 goals in his last 4 games after coming off of a wickedly horrible 2021-2022 season. Considering they have been looking for an offensive forward since august. It could make sense that they spring for a player sooner rather than later.
