The Last Word on Hockey Show: New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins
New York Islanders
Jim welcomes everyone back to the show. It is another jam-packed edition with the show opening talking about the Islanders. Jim mentions CM Punk’s reference during AEW Dynamite as to why the Islanders weren’t winning at UBS Arena. The boys discuss how the youth movement of Oliver Wahlstrom, Kieffer Bellow, Noah Dobson and others is taking over with the Islanders. Marc mentions they are getting healthy and things at the beginning of the year did not help them. But as everyone notes the Islanders have to start stringing wins together or else they will be in danger of missing the playoffs.
New York Rangers
The boys keep in the area by talking about the Rangers and their recent play. Marc and Coach Jay talk about Igor Shesterkin. They both agree he is the MVP of the team. Shesterkin allows the Rangers to play more freely. Not to mention that Gerard Gallant is the perfect coach for this team. He is finding the winning formula as youngsters Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafreniere are playing much better and seeing time in the top six. Jim notes they will look to add on the backend as well a bottom-six forward.

Toronto Maple Leafs
The show switches to talking about the Maple Leafs and their play. Especially that of Jack Campell and Ondrej Kase. Everyone is in agreement, the Maple Leafs are finally buying into the system. But the play of Kase has given the Maple Leafs a different look now and element they have been missing. Also, don’t forget the play of Michael Bunting. Coach Jay praises the play of Campbell and Jim notes both players will be getting a nice raise on their next contracts.
Boston Bruins
Speaking of depth scoring, Jim switches the show over to the Bruins. He mentions the sneaky plays the Bruins made by moving David Pastrnak to the second line as they move Erik Haula to the second-line centre. Not to mention Taylor Hall moves to the top line. Marc brings up the point about Brad Marchand not being an All-Star. Coach Jay talks about the impact of the returning Tuukka Rask and what it might mean for the Bruins chances going forward.
The boys go also talk about the Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, as well as the All-Star Game debate and so much more.
Enjoy!
