The Last Word on Hockey Show: Matt Duchene, Ryan Getzlaf, and Jonathan Quick

Nashville Predators

Jim welcomes everyone to the show as he tells the audience this week will be a little different. He opens the show talking about the resurgent Nashville Predators. Jim mentions players like Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen are having come-back seasons. Ron and Marc agree the Predators are surprising this year considering the players they lost in the off-season. Ron mentions the stats of Duchene and Johansen, while Marc mentions how well the defence is playing without Ryan Ellis. If the Predators are going to continue to play like this, Nashville will be pushing for a playoff spot in the Central.

Los Angeles Kings

Jim switches the show over to the West Coast since they do not get much love especially out on the East Coast. The Kings are one of the surprise teams in the Pacific Division. At the time of the show, the Kings were on a seven-game winning streak. They are doing this without Sean Walker and Drew Doughty. Jim mentions Philip Danault and what he has brought to the Kings. Ron talks about how well Jonathan Quick is playing this year. Marc notes the youth movement is on in Los Angeles after quite some time.

Anaheim Ducks

Jim then goes down the highway to Anaheim to talk about the high-flying Anaheim Ducks. Another California team on seven games winning streak. Jim talks about the play of Troy Terry his now 14-game point streak. Not to mention how well Ryan Getzlaf is playing. Ron goes into the stats of these players and looks at the supporting cast of Adam Henrique, Trevor Zegras and the other young players performing so well. Marc talks about the play of Jon Gibson and this is another team embracing the youth movement.

The boys then talk about the problems with the Dallas Stars in Big D. In addition, they discuss it is too early to panic with the New York Islanders?

Jim, Ron, and Marc also discuss the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, New York Rangers and as well as the rest of the tough Metro Division.

Enjoy!
