NHL Predictions
Montreal Canadiens vs Vegas Golden Knights
Series: Canadiens 0 – 0 Golden Knights
The Montreal Canadiens and Vegas Golden Knights face off tonight in their first game of the series. Both clubs are looking to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Montreal completed the sweep against the Winnipeg Jets with offence from all over their roster and goaltending from Carey Price. Despite a scary injury to Jake Evans in Game 2, the Canadiens were able to push past Winnipeg and outscore them 14-6. While Montreal is currently on a roll, the Vegas Golden Knights just defeated the President Trophy winners and the favourite to lift the cup, the Colorado Avalanche.
While they took it to six, Vegas was able to overcome a 2-0 deficit to defeat the President Trophy winners and the favourite to win the cup, the Colorado Avalanche. Vezina contender Marc-Andre Fleury put on a goaltending clinic against one of the best offences in the league, holding powerhouse forward Nathan MacKinnon to just two goals on the series. The Golden Knights offence was also able to find their rhythm in the later games.
This series should be an interesting one and it might end up depending on the hotter goalie. Vegas has the more solid defence and offence on paper and if that translates to the ice, they will win the series. The Golden Knights will take the first game of the series.
Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-1.
