NHL Predictions: Toronto Maple Leafs vs Winnipeg Jets

Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 6 – Jets 3

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets wrap up their regular-season series on Friday night. With the playoffs right around the corner, neither team will be looking to get hurt. It will be interesting to see who dresses in these games for both teams. But with so much time off before the start of the North Division series, we also could see full lineups since games don’t begin until next Thursday.

Winnipeg needs a win heading into the playoffs. They have been struggling as of late before clinching the third seed on Tuesday night over Vancouver. Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler, and others found the back of the net. The Jets are hoping Nikolaj Ehlers is ready to go for Game 1 against Edmonton. Winnipeg can ill afford to lose any more players heading into the playoffs.

For Toronto, they are looking to play a solid game after falling to Ottawa on Wednesday night. Sheldon Keefe will look to limit ice time for his big guns like Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner heading into the playoffs. Both players need to be at 100 percent come playoff time. If anything the Maple Leafs will be relying more on their bottom-six forwards to win this game.

Considering Winnipeg was in striking distance of Toronto a few weeks ago, the Jets will be out for revenge. Both with both teams’ fates sealed, this game might not have the same intensity as the previous games.

Prediction: Maple Leafs win 3-2
