Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, we will take a look at the games that are happening and give our predictions for each one. This is the early set of predictions here on Monday, April 12th. Be sure to check out out the other sets of predictions as well. In addition, we also offer a featured game of the day, which is a game that we think is must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs.

NHL Predictions: Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Detroit Red Wings vs Carolina Hurricanes

Head-to-Head: Red Wings 3 – 3 Hurricanes

The Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes will meet for the seventh time this season. Considering how bad the Red Wings are this season, they have managed to take three games off Carolina this season. The Hurricanes are one of the top teams in the Central Division. To assert their dominance and show they are for real, these are games that the Hurricanes need. Now it is the NHL and any team has a chance on any given night. But considering the Red Wings are one of the worst teams in the league, Carolina should have owned this series. The Hurricanes have too much talent not to win this game.

Prediction: Hurricanes Win 4-2

Chicago Blackhawks vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Head-to-Head: Blackhawks 5 – 2 Blue Jackets

The Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets meet for the final time this season. And for the Blue Jackets, they are breathing a sigh of relief. The Blackhawks have owned the Blue Jackets this season. Chicago is fighting for their playoff lives as they sit on the outside looking in. Columbus meanwhile is clearly a seller trading away David Savard and Nick Foligno ahead of the deadline. Chicago could be a seller as well, it all depends on what their general manager wants to do. These are just two teams looking to finish the season on a winning note. It will be interesting to see who steps up for the Blue Jackets now that two veterans have been traded away. Look for Patrick Kane and company to win this one.

Prediction: Blackhawks win 4-3

Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 4 – 1 Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs take centre stage on Monday night. The forever rivals meet for the sixth time this season. These two teams always play close games. But it is the Maple Leafs holding the edge this season showing their dominance in the North Division. Auston Matthews is leading the league in goals. And he and his linemate Mitch Marner each potted four-point games on Saturday night. The Maple Leafs are going all-in with the additions of Riley Nash and Nick Foligno. They know the time is now. Even with Frederik Andersen hurt, Jack Campbell has shown to be a capable starter winning 11 straight games to start the season. He will look to continue the streak against Montreal.

On the other side of the coin, the Canadiens are struggling having lost three straight games. Not having Carey Price in between the pipes again is hurting this team. While Jake Allen has shown he can be a capable backup, he might be able to shoulder the load for the Canadiens. Also not having Brendan Gallagher in the lineup does not help either. He is the engine that makes that offence go. He brings the energy night in and night out. Montreal will need others to step up if they want to beat the Maple Leafs. Even after two bad losses to the Winnipeg Jets, Montreal will be ready to play Toronto. However, the Maple Leafs will just be too much for them.

Prediction: Maple Leafs Win 3-1
