NHL Predictions With Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights
Carolina Hurricanes vs Chicago Blackhawks
Head-to-Head: Hurricanes 2 – 2 Blackhawks
These two teams have played each other four times so far and have won two games each. Expect the fifth matchup to follow the same pattern of tightly played and a close score no matter who wins. Chicago badly wants these points as they’re tied for the final playoff spot currently. Carolina is looking for the division lead and will be hungry as well. The Hurricanes look like one of the most well-rounded teams out there and are a threat on any given night. As for the Hawks, they have been led by the likes of Patrick Kane all season long and that should continue. However, they will need some more depth scoring to keep in this playoff race.
Prediction: Hurricanes win 3-1.
Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators
Head-to-Head: Stars 2 – 3 Predators
Recently, the Predators have had the Stars number, taking three in a row. However, the season series is close to equal and the Stars will look to even it up tonight. These are crucial points as Nashville is tied with Chicago for that fourth playoff spot. Additionally, the Stars are seven points back with four extra games to make up. These matchups will continue to be huge for the rest of the season as every single point will be important. Look for this game to be a tightly contested one as well.
Prediction: Stars win 5-4 in Overtime.
Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights
Head-to-Head: Wild 2 – 2 Knights
Finally, we have the featured game of the night! The Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights should bring some exciting action for many reasons. Minnesota had a hot start to the year but has cooled down a little bit recently. They have lost three of their last five games, all to teams below them in the standings. Despite that, they are still very comfortable in third place in the West division. They are also still 7-2-1 in their last 10 games played. This team has shown all season long that they should be a team to contend with, and they have given Vegas everything they can handle so far too. The Wild still play excellent defence, but now have a scoring touch to add to it as well. On top of that, they also have some much-needed goaltending that they haven’t had in a number of seasons.
On the other side, the Golden Knights look to stay on top of the division. They currently hold a one-point lead and will look to make some ground here. If they were to lose, Minnesota would be just three points behind them in the standings. Look for the continued play from Marc-Andre Fleury. He has been absolutely dominant all year, which isn’t what people exactly saw coming. Regardless, this is one of the best teams in the league for a reason. A mix of elite talent and some solid depth should make this a very exciting game.
This should be a game that comes down to who can limit their mistakes. With two great teams going at it, making sure they have as little as possible to capitalize on will be the key to success. Three of the prior games have been decided by less than two goals, two of them needing extra time. It wouldn’t be shocking if the same thing happened tonight.
Prediction: Vegas wins 3-2 in Overtime.
