2020-21 Stanley Cup Champions

 Who Could Win Stanley Cup

If you go on to Betsafe Live, you will find the odds to win the 2021 Stanley Cup Championship. As it stands right now the Lightning are the odds on favourite to win the Stanley Cup at +700. The Lightning are a good choice to hold the top spot. They are the defending champs. And until someone knocks them off, they have to be favourites to win. Even though there will be some changes heading into next season, the Lightning still have a supremely talented team that can repeat. But there is a reason why it is so hard to repeat in the NHL. Not only is it a long season, but the grind of the playoffs takes its toll on a team. But with that core don’t count the Lightning out.

However, the Lightning have company at the top spot as the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights are also favoured at +700 to win the Stanley Cup. The Golden Knights jumped from +1100 to +700 after the signing of Alex Pietrangelo. And why not the Golden Knights have the goal to win the Stanley Cup within the first five years of existence. When was the last time an expansion was favoured to win the Stanley Cup? That is right, the answer is never. But with this move and having the best goalie duo in the league, the Golden Knights could finally fulfill their destiny.

Colorado

Then there are the Colorado Avalanche. They have also changed their team a bit heading into next season. But not too much that it has ruined the core of their team. It is surprising to see them that high, but if they had won Game 7 against the Stars in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Avalanche most certainly could have found their way to the Stanley Cup Final. Colorado is a safe bet to lay some money down on heading into next season.

Long Shots

If there are two long shots you will want to lay money on it is the Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks took the Golden Knights to Game 7 of Round 2 falling short. But they have a good young team and the pieces they have added in the off-season have made them +2000 to win the Stanley Cup. The other Canadian team to look at is the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens played well in the NHL’s Return to Play format showing they could compete with any team in the league. With the additions of Josh Anderson, Tyler Toffoli and Jake Allen, the Canadiens have a shot to really make noise next season and hoist the Stanley Cup. Currently, the Canadiens are (+2500) to win the Stanley Cup. Originally before the moves, Montreal was +3000.
