Today we cover the Nashville Predators comic captions for the 2019-20 season.

Nashville Predators Comic Captions for 2019-20

Roman Josi

Roman Josi is the captain of the Nashville Predators and had a terrific season. He potted 16 goals and 49 assists good for 65 points in 69 games. That is a 0.94 points per game ratio which shows his immense worth to the team.

The Predators recognized his importance and rewarded him with an eight-year $72.472 million contract which will kick in next season. He is a definite workhorse as he clocked an average of 25:48 minutes on the ice per game.

He is the quarterback on the power play being involved in 23 man advantage tallies during the 2019-20 shortened season. His possession numbers were the best of his nine-year career in Nashville. His Corsi For was 53.2 and his Relative Corsi was 3.8.

There’s no doubt that the Arizona Coyotes, who will face the Preds in the play-in series once play resumes, will need to focus on stopping Josi. It’s just a mystery how they’re going to do that.

Here’s our Nashville Predators comic caption for Roman Josi.

Hey Joe, don’t you hate it when the puck is on end like that? Of course, playing it from your knees is a challenge too.”

Matt Duchene

Matt Duchene who is in his first season in Nashville may want to forget about it. At $8 million AAV a year for the next six seasons, the Preds must be wondering what’s up with the forward they signed with hopes of much better production.

He only managed 13 goals (the lowest in his career) and 29 assists in 66 games. So, there’s something going on with Duchene if he can’t produce much better than that. Perhaps he had a nagging injury. It’s almost a good comparison to what the Arizona Coyotes (who pursued Duchene as a free agent) expected when they traded for Phil Kessel. He also failed to produce with just 38 points.

The good news is Duchene will have an opportunity to show the Predators’ management that paying him that much was not a mistake. If he can step up his game against the Coyotes in the play-in series, this past regular season will be a distant memory… albeit a bad memory.

Here’s our Nashville Predators comic caption for Matt Duchene.

Pekka Rinne

Pekka Rinne is getting up there in age. The soon-to-be 38-year-old netminder who is signed through next season at a $5 million AAV, is slowing down for certain. This season showed him with a disappointing 18-14-4 record. His save percentage was the lowest in his 14-year career with a .895. He had a goals-against-average of 3.17. Rinne did have three shutouts, showing he can still perform.

When the Preds face the Arizona Coyotes for the play-in series it would not be a surprise to see Juuse Saros get the nod in goal. He has a much better .914 save percentage with a 2.70 goals-against-average.

It’s not clear whether Rinne will be the starter next season since both netminders split the duties this season. He has played his entire 14-year career in Nashville. His career numbers are very impressive with a 359-201-74 record. He carries a .917 save percentage and a 2.42 goals-against-average. He also has 58 career shutouts.

If Rinne’s statistics don’t improve next season he may very well consider retiring. He’s quite a competitor so that would be a major decision.

Here’s our Nashville Predators comic captions for Pekka Rinne.
