Today we cover the Montreal Canadiens comic captions for the 2019-20 season.
Montreal Canadiens Comic Captions for 2019-20
Tomas Tatar
Tomas Tatar led the team in scoring with 22 goals and 45 assists in 68 games. He also threw in eight power play tallies as well as six assists. What stands out more is his Corsi For of 60.2 and Relative Corsi of 8.2. That means when he’s on the ice he controls the puck quite frequently. That helps his team score and that can mean wins.
He was traded by the Detroit Red Wings in February of 2018 for three draft picks, going to the Vegas Golden Knights. Seven months later he was shipped to the Habs in exchange for Max Pacioretty. It has proved to be a pretty good deal for the Canadiens since they also received young Nick Suzuki. Tatar has scored 119 points including 47 goals over the last two campaigns. Suzuki had 41 points in 71 games for the Montreal club.
He still has one more year left on his four-year $21 million contract he signed in Detroit. The team will have six other restricted free agents to come to terms with, so getting Tatar extended must be on their to-do list. A player like Tatar who can score, and is an accurate 13.1 percent career shooter is difficult to come by.

Brendan Gallagher
Brendan Gallagher had his third +20-goal season with the Habs collecting 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 59 games. He missed some games due to injury. Gallagher has one more year left on his six-year $22.5 millon contract he agreed to in November of 2014.
His entire eight-year career has been spent in Montreal. During that span covering 547 games, he has collected 173 goals and 161 assists for 334 points. He also contributed on the power play adding 35 goals and 28 assists. So he can score and he can set up plays with the best of them. That could be contributed to the fact that he is an excellent possession player on the squad. Over his career, he has a stellar Corsi For of 56.0, with a 6.1 Relative Corsi.
Plainly put, Gallagher gets the job done.

Max Domi
The former Arizona Coyotes forward Max Domi had a terrific 2018-19 season with the Habs collecting 28 goals and 44 assists for 72 points in 82 games. This season has not matched that level of production for the 5’10”, 193 pound Winnipeg native. He fell to 17 goals, 27 assists for just 44 points in 71 games.
It seems that what Domi needs to work on is his consistency. In his initial season in the NHL he gathered 18 goals. Then, the next two seasons he only managed nine goals. He’s still a young player at 25-years-old, but with 375 NHL games under his belt he needs to be more of a consistent player.
His productivity has improved since joining the Canadiens. Over 222 games in Arizona Max had 36 goals and 99 assists for 135 points. Since joining the Montreal team he has appeared in 153 games with 45 goals and 71 assists for 116 points.
What really will be a mystery is whether or not Domi is allowed to participate in the play-in games due to his Type-1 diabetes. It would be a detriment to the Habs if he is not allowed to play. His safety and well being has to be of paramount importance to the team and the league.
