Today we cover the Florida Panthers comic captions for the 2019-20 season.

Florida Panthers Comic Captions for 2019-20

Jonathan Huberdeau

Jonathan Huberdeau was the leading scorer for the Panthers this season. He collected 23 goals and 55 assists good for 78 points in 69 games. He shoots at a 15.1 percent accuracy and was involved in 29 of the 45 power play tallies the team scored. Over the last two seasons, he has managed 1.12 and 1.13 points per game. There’s not much more you can expect from a forward.

That’s why the team awarded him with a six-year $35.4 million deal in September of 2016. He has great possession numbers through his eight-year stint in Florida with a Corsi For of 51.7 and a Relative Corsi of 2.7. The Panthers are an excellent offensive team finishing seventh in scoring, but failing to stop the other team to the tune of being 28th.

Huberdeau figures to be a key player when the Panthers face the New York Islanders in the 24-team projected playoffs. The Florida team may have some difficulty scoring on the Islanders’ tough defence who only allows 2.84 goals a game.

Keith Yandle

Keith Yandle is in his 14th NHL season. He has shown that even a player selected 114th in the 2005 NHL draft by the then Phoenix Coyotes can excel in the league. For the Panthers, he has demonstrated his prowess as a puck-moving defenceman. In 315 games he has 27 goals and 177 assists. Over his career on the blue line, he has participated in 973 games with 99 goals and 474 assists for 573 total points.

He turns 34-years-old in September and still has three years left on the seven-year $44.45 million contract he signed in June of 2016. He doesn’t appear to be slowing down with age and the Panthers hope he still has some gas in his tank.

Yandle was a steal to be selected at 114th and have lasted so long in the NHL. That’s why he was selected as our top draft boom player for the Coyotes since 2000. He seems to have found his home in Florida and is a vital veteran on the team.

Mike Hoffman

Mike Hoffman has scored 65 goals over the last two seasons and he’s always a threat to turn on the red light. He had 29 goals and 30 assists in 69 games for Florida this season. Hoffman becomes a well sought-after unrestricted free agent after this season. It would not be a surprise to see a team trade for his rights to get a jump on free agency. He inked a four-year $20.75 million contract in July of 2016.

It would deflate the Panthers’ offensive fire-power a bit to lose him, but the team should really shore up its defence if it intends to succeed. Hoffman is just 30-years-old and could really assist a team looking to advance in the playoffs.

The Panthers will have five UFA’s and six RFA’s to concern their salary cap space. Keeping Hoffman as well as Evgenii Dadonov ($4M) and Erik Haula ($2.75M) may be a headache, so we’ll see who stays and who goes.

In any case, whoever gets Hoffman will have a skilled, accurate (11.8 percent) shooter. He knows how to change the results of games.
