Fantasy Hockey Weekend Streamers
Anaheim Ducks (Friday TOR, Sunday MIN)
Adam Henrique – 31% Owned
Adam Henrique could very well score 30 goals this season. Friday against the Toronto Maple Leafs is a nice matchup – Toronto ranks 28th in goals against this season. Henrique has three goals and three assists over the last 14 days, adding 21 shots, 10 hits, and seven blocks along the way.
Matt Irwin – 0% Owned
Defenceman Matt Irwin has been tallying banger stats like crazy since joining the Anaheim Ducks. Irwin’s trade from the Nashville Predators to Anaheim wasn’t a sexy one, but he’s been a force since becoming a regular. In five games, he has eight shots, 20 hits, and 14 blocks for those of you in need of big banger numbers. Irwin even notched an assist last game.
Calgary Flames (Friday ARI, Sunday VGK)
Andrew Mangiapane – 13% Owned
One of the hottest lines in hockey these days is Matthew Tkachuk, Mikael Backlund, and Andrew Mangiapane. The latter has seven goals and two assists in his last eight games. Mangiapane has also chipped in 17 shots and 10 hits over the past couple weeks and can be slotted into either wing position, giving you some roster flexibility. You ESPN owners can even toss him in the centre slot.
Derek Forbort – 0% Owned
Derek Forbort is another defenceman providing some off-the-radar banger value. Nobody owns this guy, but a couple of games worth of hits and blocks are always useful. Since arriving from the Los Angeles Kings, Forbort isn’t getting a ton of ice time, but he does have the ability to contribute nicely with hits and blocks regardless.
Milan Lucic – 5% Owned
Of course, Milan Lucic is always a good stream for hits. Sometimes he plunks in a goal or two, but there’s a solid chance Lucic can give 10 or more hits to close out your matchup. In PIMs leagues, he’s even more valuable.
Chicago Blackhawks (Friday @DET, Sunday STL)
Duncan Keith – 23% Owned
The secret is still out on veteran defenceman Duncan Keith, who has eight points (five on the power play), 16 shots, and 12 blocks over the past two weeks. He’s the clear lead man on the top power-play unit. It’s one of the not-so-good power plays in the league, but it’s converting at a better rate lately, at least. Friday against the Detroit Red Wings is, obviously, a tantalizing matchup.
Connor Murphy – 11% Owned
Connor Murphy continues to be a borderline elite source of hits and blocks, plus he provides plenty of shots for a defender. Over the last 30 days, Murphy is one of only two other defencemen with at least 30 shots, 30 hits, and 25 blocks. Simply put, he should be rostered in every banger category league there is.
Dylan Strome – 19% Owned
Dylan Strome has been largely irrelevant this season. Even so, he does have two goals and three assists in his last four games. Strome has been centring a line with Patrick Kane and seeing second-unit power-play time. Definitely worth a shot for some extras points this weekend.
Colorado Avalanche (Friday @VAN, Sunday @SJ)
Tyson Jost – 5% Owned
Don’t let Tyson Jost‘s measly 22 points disguise the fact he’s a very worthwhile stream this weekend. The Avs have done some line shuffling lately. Jost is centring the third line but is a wing on the top power-play unit. In his last five games, he has two goals, four assists, and 16 shots.
Samuel Girard – 27% Owned
Defenceman Samuel Girard has a goal and four assists through his past five games. Two of those points were via the power play. Girard is up to 30 assists on the season and is a decent bet to add more against two shaky defences this weekend.
Vladislav Namestnikov – 12% Owned
It’s been a productive stint in Colorado so far for Vladislav Namestnikov. He has goals in back-to-back games, with a total of three points in five games as a member of the Colorado Avalanche. Most importantly, he’s been playing more with superstars Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog, which makes him a lovely Friday-Sunday stream for a chance at more points.
Detroit Red Wings (Friday CHI, Sunday TB)
Filip Hronek – 19% Owned
Outside of Dylan Larkin and Anthony Mantha, there aren’t really many viable options for fantasy hockey. Even for streaming purposes. Filip Hronek is the defender to own if there is one. He missed some time with an injury but has a power-play assist and six shots in his three games back. Hronek is the top power-play quarterback, which makes him a decent streaming option.
St. Louis Blues (Friday @NJ, Sunday @CHI)
Robert Thomas – 6% Owned
Robert Thomas has a pretty quiet 40 points this season, with 13 of those coming in the 18 games since the All-Star break. Thomas is pretty well-entrenched as the centre on both the second even-strength line and the second power-play unit. He has four points in his last four, including two on the power play. Thomas won’t fill hardly any peripheral categories but is a solid bet for some help with assists. the New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks are both great matchups for the Blues.
Zach Sanford – 17% Owned
Zach Sanford has zero points in eight of his last nine games. Still, he’s on the second line with Thomas as well as the second power-play squad. Sanford is a streaky player, but two good matchups this weekend could turn things around. He’s still a decent peripheral guy, too.
Vancouver Canucks (Friday COL, Sunday CBJ)
Jake Virtanen – 14% Owned
Through his last six games, Jake Virtanen has four points, 15 shots, and eight hits. That’s some pretty solid all-around category contribution. Virtanen is seeing time on the second power-play unit, as well. Not ideal, of course, but not bad given he can fill some other needs on your roster. He racked up six shots his last game, for what it’s worth.
Tanner Pearson – 33% Owned
Tanner Pearson is on the second power-play unit with Virtanen, but he’s also seeing second-line time alongside Bo Horvat. Pearson has two goals in his last three games and three in his last six. Those aren’t bad odds for nabbing a goal or two from a Friday-Sunday streamer. He can also help with shots and hits.
Vegas Golden Knights (Friday @WPG, Sunday @CGY)
Alec Martinez – 28% Owned
A change of scenery has done wonders for Alec Martinez. Since joining the Vegas Golden Knights, Martinez has two goals and four assists in seven games. The shots and blocks especially are piling up quicker than they have all season practically. The Knights want to win and are giving the two-time Cup-winning veteran a prominent role moving forward.
Paul Stastny – 26% Owned
Paul Stastny certainly isn’t the player he once was, but he can still chip in every now and then. Lately, he’s been on the second line with Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith. Stastny has six points in his last eight games – none of those have been on the power play, but he’s been centring the top unit recently.
Ryan Reaves – 15% Owned
Lastly, we all know what we’re getting with Ryan Reaves: hits, hits, and more hits. Reaves even has two goals and two assists in his last seven games, but that’s not why you’re streaming him. Those league-leading 302 hits are why.
That’s all for Fantasy Hockey Streamers for this week! Tune in every week for more content.
