Andy Greene Traded To The Islanders
Jersey Joe and Jersey Jim open show talking about how it is never a dull moment when it comes to the New Jersey Devils especially on a Sunday. Jim explains the trade that saw Devils captain Andy Greene traded to the New York Islanders in exchange for a 2021 second-round pick and David Quenneville early on Sunday afternoon. Joe says while it is tough to see Greene go, the Devils defence will be more mobile. Jim compares Greene to Ron Hainsey and how his addition will help the young players on the Islanders.
Blake Coleman Sent To Tampa Bay
Next, the boys go into the details that saw Blake Coleman traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Nolan Foote and Vancouver’s first-round pick. Jim explains the whole situation surrounding Coleman how he was traded then he wasn’t then he was. It was a crazy event that happened mid-game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. While fans are upset at the trade, they note that Coleman’s trade value was never going to be any higher than now.
Diving Into The Prospect Pool
Jersey Joe shifts the show in a different direction. He looks into the prospect pool of the team from the junior ranks all the way through Binghamton of the AHL. Jim mentions how players like Nick Merkley, Joey Anderson, and others are making an impact because of their development in the AHL. He also notes that Jesper Boqvist is flourishing down in the AHL and will be better off having that developmental year.

Jersey Joe and Jersey Jim then look at what players could be traded next. They reference general manager Tom Fitzgerald’s press conference after Sunday’s game. They mention how Travis Zajac will not be going anywhere as the team wants to build around Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes, and MacKenzie Blackwood. Jim references the New Jersey Devils Trade Deadline Strategy and how Sami Vatanen, Kyle Palmieri, and Wayne Simmonds could be the next ones traded.
The boys close the show looking at the situation surrounding Evander Kane and the Department of Player Safety. They discuss whether or not Kane has a point about the inconsistencies in regards to the suspensions that are handed out. Jim closes the show by mentioning what he has line up for Last Word on Hockey.
