The Winnipeg Jets announced that centre Andrew Copp is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Maurice says Copp won’t play tomorrow. He’ll have a couple more tests, but Maurice says the injury looks week-to-week. Copp won’t play before Christmas.

Andrew Copp out with Upper-body Injury
On Tuesday night in the Carolina Hurricanes blow out, Copp left the game early. With over 12 minutes left in the second period, Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal is breaking out of his defensive zone with the puck. Copp sees Staal and begins to forecheck hard.
Near the blue line at the Jets bench, Copp collided with Staal. The collision threw Copp off his feet as he fell awkwardly onto his right shoulder. He found his way to the bench immediately after getting back to his feet.
Copp could be seen wincing in pain on the bench. He managed to make it out for one more shift before leaving for the locker room, where he would not return.
So far this season, Copp has scored five goals and nine assists for 14 points to go along with six minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 52.5 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of four.
Over his six-year NHL career, Andrew Copp has played for the Winnipeg Jets. He has 41 goals and 57 assists for 98 career points in 327 career games. He was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the fourth round, 104th overall in the 2013 NHL draft.
What This Means for the Future
Currently, the Jets sit in the third Central Division spot with 42 points. With a long list on the injured reserve, things could change quickly.
The Jets are fighting through injuries this season. Not too long ago, forward Mathieu Perreault was diagnosed with a concussion. The Jets are also missing Dmitry Kulikov, Mark Letestu, Bryan Little, and Mason Appleton.
Jets head coach Paul Maurice assured everyone the upper-body injury is not a concussion but did not mention anymore.
