Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Grasping at Straws
It’s an angry and somber edition of the pod this week. After eight loses in a row, the guys have had just about enough. Things flow a bit differently as reliving the past week was just too painful.
Instead, the guys examine the Montreal Canadiens as a whole. First, the guys look at Claude Julien and see what he can do to help turn things around. Johannes and Connor think Julien might need to scale back his coaching style. They also agree that Julien’s system is not working well with this group, perhaps its time for a system the players can thrive in (especially on defence).
Then the players get put under the microscope. A lot of players are underperforming. Jeff Petry had a rough week. Max Domi has also struggled recently. While there are some nice pieces on the roster, it seems that their overall lack of size is catching up with them.
Finally, the guys dig in on their favorite topic, Marc Bergevin. They look at all aspects of the GM. His trading style, team philosophy, and, systems.
All this and winners and losers, Habs call up, potential trade targets and much, much more.
