NHL Predictions
Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators
Head-to-Head: Bruins 1-0 Senators
It´s the second head-to-head game of the season between the Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins complete their short two-game road swing tonight, after playing in Montreal on Tuesday night. The Bruins lead the Atlantic Division. Surprisingly, the Senators are not as far away as expected before the season. Ottawa has 23 points and has won in seven of their most recent 10 games, which is extraordinarily excellent for this young Senators team.
In their first head-to-head meeting this season, the Bruins beat the Sens 5-2 after that scary moment when Scott Sabourin left the ice on the stretchers. Since the Senators won Game 6 in Boston in 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs to knock out the Bruins, the Bruins have won their last nine head-to-head contests. The only time the Sens forced the Bruins to overtime was their last meeting here at the Canadian Tire Center, where Torey Krug scored the OT winner. Krug also scored a game-winner in overtime on Saturday. The Bruins will miss Patrice Bergeron, as Tuukka Rask will be in the net.
Prediction: Bruins win 4-2.
Vegas Golden Knights vs. Nashville Predators
Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 0-1 Predators
Right before Thanksgiving at Bridgestone Arena, the struggling Nashville Predators take on the Vegas Golden Knights, who strive, as well. The Predators have ended their six-game losing skid on Saturday in St. Louis. They followed with another victory over the Blues, this time at home, on Monday. Still, the Predators find themselves two points out of the playoff contention with 25 points in 23 games, which is a massive disappointment.
The Golden Knights know a thing or two about struggling too. From their last 15 games, Vegas has won only four times. They are on another three-game losing skid, last loss suffered occurred on Monday against the red-hot Dallas Stars. Both teams will try to rediscover a little bit of confidence ahead of Thanksgiving. In their last meeting in October, the Preds beat the Golden Knights 5-2 in Vegas. Nashville is 2-0-1 at home historically facing Vegas.
Prediction: Predators win 4-3 in overtime.
Anaheim Ducks vs. Arizona Coyotes
Head-to-Head: Ducks 1-0 Coyotes
We are heading west in our NHL Predictions to check out the Pacific Division battle between the Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes. These two divisional rivals have met on the Opening Night at Honda Center, where the Ducks won 2-1. While both squads had a different start, now they are separated by six points, with the Coyotes sitting on the playoff position and the Ducks well outside those spots.
The Coyotes suffered their only regulation loss in their last five contests at home versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. On Sunday, they lost at home against the Oilers. Overall, they are pretty sharp in the divisional games, their lone loss withing the Pacific Division came in that game in Anaheim. The Ducks beat the Islanders on Monday to conclude the Isles´ 17-game point streak. Ahead of that influential 3-0 win, the Ducks have lost eight of their previous nine games. From their last seven head-to-head meetings in the desert, the Ducks won four games. However, in their very last tilt at Gila River Arena, Arizona won 6-1.
Prediction: Coyotes win 3-1.
Edmonton Oilers vs. Colorado Avalanche
Head-to-Head: Oilers 1-0 Avalanche
In the featured late game of today´s NHL Predictions, we take a closer look at the game at Pepsi Center between the Edmonton Oilers and the Colorado Avalanche. The Oilers lead the Western Conference with 35 points. The Avalanche sit on the playoff spots in the Central Division with 28 points. Certainly, the Avalanche all strive from the absences of Mikko Rantanen or Gabriel Landeskog. They will try to snap their short two-game losing skid tonight in Denver.
The Oilers are finishing their very powerful road trip, where they beat the divisional rivals like Vegas, San Jose, and Arizona. Their only fail came in Los Angeles, in a 5-1 way, interestingly. The Avalanche came home from their five-game road trip on Saturday, losing to Toronto. They were 3-2 on the road, one of their two losses came in Edmonton, as the Oilers beat the Avs 6-2. This time around, the Avalanche will try to get their revenge. Colorado has won only one of their most recent five home games facing the Oilers.
Prediction: Avalanche win 5-4 in overtime.
New York Islanders vs. Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Islanders 0-0 Kings
We will end our roundup of NHL Prediction for today in California, where the Los Angeles Kings host the New York Islanders at Staples Center. The Islanders saw their impressive 17-game point streak end on Monday in Anaheim. It was disappointing as the Islanders failed to achieve a single goal. They will try to bounce back and make up for it facing the Kings, who sit on the last spot in the Western Conference.
The Kings tend to be strong in the home games lately. They have gone 4-1-1 at Staples Center in their last six contests. On Monday, the Kings erased a three-goal deficit versus the Sharks, before falling in overtime. Last time these two teams met in Los Angeles, the Islanders defeated the Kings 7-2. Before that, the Kings went 7-0-1 at home versus the Islanders.
Prediction: Islanders win 4-2.
Winnipeg Jets vs. San Jose Sharks
Head-to-Head: Jets 1-0 Sharks
To wrap up tonight´s schedule, the San Jose Sharks host the Winnipeg Jets at SAP Center. The Sharks are red-hot. Following a rather woeful beginning to the regular season, they have won nine of their most recent 10 contests. Their last three victories came in overtimes. The Sharks are getting contribution throughout their whole lineup, while they missed Tomas Hertl in their last three contests. The Sharks won in a rivalry game on Monday in Los Angeles, despite blowing a 3-0 lead against the Kings.
The Jets have gone 8-2-1 in their last 11 games. They undoubtedly know how to stay successful, as well. The Sharks obtained a playoff-spot position for the first time this season on Monday. The Jets sit two points above the Sharks with 29 points. These two met earlier this month, when the Jets won 3-2 in San Jose, despite being heavily outshot and outplayed by the Sharks. The Jets also won their last three games in San Jose.
Prediction: Sharks win 4-3.
