Boston Bruins Zach Senyshyn Out At Least a Month

Zach Senyshyn

The Boston Bruins announced that forward Zach Senyshyn will be out at least a month with a lower-body injury. Senyshyn will be reevaluated at that time.

Zach Senyshyn Injured, Trent Frederic Recalled

During the Bruins disappointing 5-4 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, Senyshyn left the game with an injury. The injury occurred during the second period after just playing close to 4:46. Through four games this season after being recalled from Providence, Senyshyn has two points. They were both assists in his first game against the Montreal Canadiens last Tuesday night.

With Senyshyn out at least a month, the Bruins announced that Trent Frederic had been recalled from the Providence Bruins of the AHL. In 15 games this season with Providence, Frederic has tallied five assists. Frederic, like Senyshyn saw time with the Bruins during the 2018-19 season playing in 15 games. The 2016 first-round draft pick is looking to be more of mainstay this season.

Going Forward

Injuries continue to pile up for the defending Eastern Conference champions. Along with Senyshyn, the Bruins are missing Jake DeBrusk (lower-body injury), David Backes, Brett Ritchie, and Karson Kuhlman on offence. Not to mention defenceman Torey Krug remains out of the lineup. One thing the Bruins pride themselves on is having depth in their organization, but it is being tested early on in the season.

Now one of their call ups in Senyshyn is hurt. However, Frederic is coming in with the confidence in his ability to play in the NHL. He has the experience from last season and the run through the playoffs to make a difference with the Bruins. He had a good camp and knows what it takes to stay on this roster going forward. For now, Frederic will be playing alongside Par Lindholm, who recently returned to the lineup and Danton Heinen on the third line.
