The Winnipeg Jets announced this morning that forward Bryan Little needed 25-30 stitches after taking a puck to the head in Tuesday nights game against the New Jersey Devils. It has now been announced that he has been placed on Injured Reserve. He is dealing with Vertigo but is expected to make a full recovery. Paul Maurice also announced that Gabriel Bourque is out four weeks with a lower-body injury.

Bryan Little Injured
Little continues to deal with injuries this season. After missing the start of the season, Little could once again be back on the sidelines watching. It was a scary scene in Winnipeg Tuesday night. During the third period between the Jets and the Devils, with the Jets pressing Little took a puck to the head off the stick of teammate Nikolaj Ehlers. The shot hit Little’s left ear, and he stayed for several moments. The good news was that Little was able to skate off under his own power. According to the Jets, Little was transported to the hospital after the game. He received 25-30 stitches to close the laceration around his ear.
Soon after Little was sent to the neurological unit for observation. Little has a history of concussions, having missed the first nine games of the season due to sustaining one in the preseason. The medical staff once to be careful with him going. Since returning to the lineup, Little has six points in five games.
Looking Ahead
The Jets have called up Joona Luoto from the Manitoba Moose. He has three assists in nine games so far this season. Luoto has not played an NHL game yet in his career. The Jets are in the midst of a four-game homestand. Having dropped the first one against the Devils, the Jets play Vancouver Canucks on Friday before two Central Division matchups. The first is on Sunday against the Dallas Stars followed by a game on Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche.
If Little has to miss lots of time, this will be a big blow for the Jets. He has brought balance to the Jets offence since returning.
