Andre Burakovsky Re-Signs With Colorado Avalanche

Andre Burakovsky re-signs with the Colorado Avalanche. This will be a one-year contract. The financial details of the contract have not yet been released.

Andre Burakovsky Re-Signs in Washington

Burakovsky has spent the first five years of his career with the Washington Capitals. He has put up 62 goals and 83 assists for 145 career points in 328 career games. Burakovsky has picked up 9 goals and 9 assists for 18 points in 56 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.  He was originally drafted, 23rd overall of the 2013 NHL draft by the Caps.

Last season he scored 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points. He also added 14 minutes in penalties. Andre added a goal and an assist in seven games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season. His possession numbers were 48.5 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of -0.4.

What This Means for the Future

Burakovsky re-signing is a smart move for the Avs moving forward. Over the first five years of his career, he has proven to be a key piece on the Capitals third line. Expect to see Buravosky continue as a middle six forward for Colorado moving forward. He has shown that he can be a guy who will put up around 15 goals a year.

Furthermore, Burakovsky also brings size to the Avs line up but isn’t known for throwing the body around. Expect Burakovsky to continue to be around the 15-20 goal mark next season with the Avs. This move will pay for itself moving forward.
