The Boston Bruins have missed their forward Jake Debrusk during the game on Thursday at TD Garden versus the Florida Panthers. DeBrusk was a late scratch for the Bruins as he suffered a lower-body injury. The injury should not force young winger to be out long-term. However, he might miss a few games for Boston.
Jake DeBrusk Out For The Boston Bruins
Jake DeBrusk presumably suffered a lower-body injury in a collision in a game on Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. Despite being in some kind of discomfort, DeBrusk finished that game. He picked up a goal and an assist on a game-winner scored by David Krejci in overtime against the Hurricanes. DeBrusk´s body language wasn’t the best one during the B´s practice on Wednesday.

DeBrusk was a late scratch on Thursday. The Bruins made an emergency call-up as they recalled forward Karson Kuhlman from the Providence Bruins. Boston Head Coach Bruce Cassidy doesn´t expect DeBrusk to be out for an extended period of time. “I don’t think it’s anything major…but it may be a couple of days. He might be ready Saturday, it might be a week, but I don’t believe it’s anything noteworthy that’s going to keep him out for an extended period of time,” said Cassidy in a post-game interview following a win against the Panthers.
The Bruins Being Tested With Injuries
Jake DeBrusk has collected eight goals and 15 points in his last 10 games. He has been on his best run during the current campaign. The Bruins are certainly going to miss him. Boston is already playing without David Pastrnak, who has missed the last 10 games for them and is expected to miss at least another week with a broken thumb.
Marcus Johansson is out for a week with a lung contusion suffered in a game against the Hurricanes on Tuesday. Johansson, a Trade Deadline acquisition by the Bruins, was skating on the second line alongside David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk. Ironically, Krejci was playing the game against the Panthers with completely different wingers, Peter Cehlarik and Karson Kuhlman. Even though the injury bug hitting the Bruins, Boston extended their point streak to 18 consecutive games.
