Los Angeles Kings Austin Wagner Day-To-Day

The Los Angeles Kings will miss their forward Austin Wagner for a few days. Wagner suffered a lower-body injury as the Kings defeated the Chicago Blackhawks last Saturday. Wagner was ruled as day-to-day and will likely not be a member of the Kings lineup in the remainder of the homestand.

Austin Wagner Out For The Los Angeles Kings

The Kings will face the Montreal Canadiens later tonight and they will have to do so without Wagner. He was missing from the practice yesterday. Head Coach Willie Desjardins deemed the forward day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Desjardins added that he doesn’t expect him to be playing in the rest of the Kings homestand. Los Angeles will host the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night at Staples Center before embarking on the two-game road swing.

On another note, the Kings may welcome back defenceman Alec Martinez as he is 50/50. Martinez played his last game on Feb. 14 against the Vancouver Canucks. Martinez was taking part in the practice alongside defenceman Matt Roy on the second pair.

With Wagner Out, The Kings Made Emergency Call-up

Wagner was playing on the fourth line during Saturday´s win over the Blackhawks. The 21-year-old left-winger is in his rookie year as he has collected nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 49 games over the current season. The Kings made an emergency move with calling up forward Matt Luff from the Ontario Reign.

Luff has scored seven goals and recorded 10 points in his 31 games with the Kings during the present campaign. He should skate on the fourth line, replacing Wagner alongsideKyle Clifford and Trevor Lewis.

The Kings have lost 10 straight games ahead of their game against the Blackhawks. On that night, Los Angeles snapped that skid to prevent the worst losing slump in their franchise history.
