The Arizona Coyotes announced the team has signed Conor Garland to a contract extension. The deal is for two years with an AAV of $750K. The contract keeps Garland in Arizona through the 2020-21 season.

Arizona Coyotes Sign Conor Garland to Two-Year Extention
Through 36 games this season, Garland has scored 12 goals and 15 points. He currently sits tied for third on the Coyotes in goals. The Scituate, MA native was drafted by Arizona in the fifth round, 123rd overall, of the 2015 NHL draft. The 22-year old was having a strong season in the AHL, scoring 8 goals and 19 points with a plus-11 rating through 18 games. He was also selected as to the AHL All-Star game.
Garland had an impressive junior career with Moncton of the QMJHL. In his 206 games, he recorded 104 goals and 328 points. He led the league in scoring for two straight years, from 2014 to 2016. He has also named the leagues most valuable player in 2015.
Garland had the following to say after the announcement:
“I’m very thankful and honoured to be a part of the Coyotes for the next two years, We have a very special group here and I’m looking forward to helping us build a winning culture here in the desert.”

Coyotes President of Hockey Operations & General Manager John Chayka had this to say about Garland:
“Conor has come onto our team and made an impact through his work ethic and willingness to get to the net and score goals, He’s a great success story for our organization as a later round pick and the development process he went through to get here. We’re thrilled to get him signed long-term.”
