Artemi Panarin Injured
It’s unknown how he suffered the injury but did take the morning skate with the Blue Jackets on Monday. Panarin had close to 25 minutes of ice-time on Saturday night in an overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
So far this season, Panarin has scored nine goals and 25 assists for 34 points to go along with eight minutes in penalties in 31 games played. His possession numbers are 52.2 percent Corsi-For and a relative Corsi of +3.8.
Over his four-year NHL career, Panarin has played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets. He has 97 goals and 170 assists for 267 career points in 274 career NHL games. Panarin has also added four goals and 15 points in 17 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
What This Means for the Future
Knowing that Panarin took the morning skate its unlikely that he will miss a major amount of time. Amidst the trade rumours, Panarin is having a solid year leading the Jackets in assists with 25. Since joining the Jackets Panarin has 36 goals and 80 assists in 112 games.
Anthony Duclair took Panarin’s spot in the lineup on Tuesday. Duclair recorded 2 shots, and a blocked shot in about 18 minutes of ice time. Duclair was a healthy scratch over the past two games. He has eight goals and four assists for 12 points in 26 games this season.
The Jackets are off until Thursday night when they host the New Jersey Devils. It would be surprising if Panarin wasn’t in the line-up on Thursday. If he can’t go Duclair will once again find himself in the line-up.
