Vegas Golden Knights Announce Max Pacioretty Will Not Play Tonight

The Vegas Golden Knights announced that Max Pacioretty has a minor injury and will not play tonight against the New Jersey Devils.

Pacioretty’s injury is unspecified and there is no definite timetable for his return yet. A team spokesperson said, “The team feels it is best for him to miss one game rather than six. (It) is management’s decision to hold him out tonight.”

So far this season, Pacioretty has scored 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 28 games to go along with 16 minutes in penalties. His 10 goals are only two less than the leading goal scorer on the team, Jon Marchessault. Pacioretty has averaged 16:54 of ice time per game this season. His possession stats are 52.4 percent Corsi-For and a -3.8 relative Corsi.

Pacioretty is in his 11th NHL season. He has played 654 NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights. In those 654 NHL games, he has 236 goals and 230 assists for 446 total points. He has averaged 17:36 of ice time per game in his career. he played 10 seasons with the Canadiens before he was traded to Vegas by Montreal for Nick SuzukiTomas Tatar and Vegas’ 2nd round pick in 2019 NHL Draft.

What This Means For the Future

The Golden Knights have not announced their full lineup for tonight. However, they did announce that forward Paul Stastny will be back tonight for the first time since October 8. He missed 30 games. He is expected to be on a line with forwards Alex Tuch and Oscar Lindberg.
