The Vancouver Canucks have announced that winger Antoine Roussel will miss training camp with a concussion. He suffered the injury during an informal scrimmage before he arrived at training camp in Vancouver.
Canucks forward, Antoine Roussel will not participate in T Camp activity after sustaining a concussion during an informal scrimmage before arriving in Vancouver. He is currently undergoing a return to play protocol and skated under the supervision of Canucks medical staff today.

Antoine Roussel To Miss Training Camp
Roussel spent the first six years of his career with the Dallas Stars before signing a four-year, $12 million deal with the Canucks on July 1st. In 413 NHL games Roussel has scored 64 goals and 77 assists for 141 career points. He has two goals and three assists for five points in 19 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Last season Roussel had five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 73 games. He also added 126 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 52.4 percent Corsi-For with a relative Corsi of +1.5.
What This Means for the Future
With Roussel having a concussion there is always a question of how fast players are able to get back on the ice. With that being said Roussel is expected to be ready for the beginning of the regular season. In his absence expect some younger players to show what they have to offer the Canucks. Two rookies who will be looking to impress the Canucks are Jonah Gadjovich and Petrus Palmu. Gadjovich is coming off a 25-goal season last year with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. Palmu will be playing his first professional season of North American hockey after spending last season with TPS in the Finnish Liiga recording 17 goals in 59 games. He previously played for Owen Sound in the OHL.
