Eric Comrie

The Winnipeg Jets re-signed RFA goaltender Eric Comrie to a one-year, two-way deal worth $ 650,000 at the NHL Level, $175,000 guaranteed. This deal carries him through the 2018-19 season.

Jets Re-Sign RFA Eric Comrie

Comrie, who was drafted 59th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft has spent his career splitting time between the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose. He is 2-2 with a 4.00 GAA and .880% save percentage in four career NHL games. Comrie is 52-67-12 in 136 career AHL games. He also has six career shutouts in the AHL.

Comrie spent most of last year playing in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose. He went 18-13-3 with a 2.58 GAA. He also recorded two shutouts and recorded an assist. Comrie is coming off a three-year entry-level contract with the Jets that he signed in December 2013.

More Ice Time For Comrie Is Likely

With Michael Hutchinson getting signed by the Florida Panthers in the offseason this gives Comrie a chance to get more playing time with the Jets. Comrie will be fighting with Laurent Brossoit for the Jets backup position in training camp. If Comrie doesn’t win the backup job he will be the Jets third string and the starter in Manitoba. According to Last Word On Hockey’s Ben Kerr, Comrie’s game has been getting stronger in the AHL. Kerr’s full report on Comrie can be found on The Winnipeg Jets Top Prospects page.

Defencemen Josh Morrissey is the last remaining unsigned RFA for the Winnipeg Jets.
