Defenceman Brooks Orpik is back with the Washington Capitals. He has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1 million. The deal also includes a potential $500,000 in bonuses. If Orpik hits his bonuses, he will be paid the same amount as he was due in his recently bought-out deal. Orpik was traded by the Capitals to the Colorado Avalanche in late June as part of the Philipp Grubauer deal. The Avalanche bought out the final year of Orpik’s contract, making him an unrestricted free agent.
