Boston Bruins Ryan Donato Returns to Line-Up; Brad Machand and Jake Debrusk are GTD

The Boston Bruins have announced that Ryan Donato will be inserted into the game four line up. Brad Marchand and Jake Debrusk are both game-time decisions but are expected to play.

Bruins Shake up Line-Up

Marchand and Debrusk injuries were both undisclosed. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said, “They have some nicks.” Ryan Donato will be in the line-up for the first time since Game 2 in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In his rookie year, Ryan Donato had five goals and four assists in 12 games. He also committed one minor penalty. His possession numbers were 54 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of 0.9 He was originally drafted in the 2nd round, 56th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.

In his first year, Debrusk had 16 goals and 27 assists for 43 points in 70 games. He also added 19 minutes in penalties. Debrusk was originally drafted in the 1st round, 14th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.  He has six goals and two assists for eight points in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff Games this year.

This year Marchand had 34 goals and 51 assists for 85 points in 68 games. He also added 63 penalty minutes. His possession numbers are 56.4 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of 4.4 percent. He has 4 goals and 11 assists in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games this year.

Over his nine-year NHL career, Marchant has played for the Boston Bruins. He has 226 career goals and 233 career assists for 459 career points in 602 career games. He was originally drafted in the third round, 71st overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins.

What This Means for the Future

Donato, who has not played since game three is expected to be back in the line-up for the first time since game two in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Bruins have lost the last two games in the series and are looking to shake things up and add some offensive firepower with the rookie.
