The Ottawa Senators keep selling this deadline. The Senators placed defenceman Johnny Oduya on waivers yesterday and he was claimed by the Philadelphia Flyers. Oduya is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this upcoming season.

Philadelphia Flyers Claim Johnny Oduya Off Waivers
The Ottawa Senators keep selling, something they have been doing for a week prior to the deadline. The first trade saw Dion Phaneuf and Nate Thompson moved out, and this has been quickly followed by other moves. Now it Johhny Oduya whose contract is off the books. Oduya, 36, carries a $1 million cap hit and is a pending UFA. He has four goals and four assists for eight points in 51 games played this year. Oduya also has 32 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers are 48.4 percent Corsi, and a relative Corsi of +0.4.
He has played a good amount of the year with All-Star Erik Karlsson, but will most likely be a depth player for the Flyers as they look to get into playoffs. Oduya is known to be a stay at home defenseman, so his point totals are not the greatest reflection. Oduya was brought in through Free Agency by Ottawa this summer, signing a one year one million dollar contract.
Oduya is a 13-year veteran who has played with the New Jersey Devils, Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, and Ottawa. His better days have passed, but he may still be a useful depth piece and good for playoff experience. He has scored 41 goals and 149 assists for 190 points in 849 career games. He is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Blackhawks, and also won an Olympic Silver Medal with Sweden in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Other Waiver Claims
The Calgary Flames claimed Chris Stewart off waivers from the Minnesota Wild. Stewart has nine goals and 13 points in 47 games this year.
The Colorado Avalanche claimed Mark Alt off waivers from the Flyers. Alt has played eight games this year, but has not scored a point.
