NHL rebuild - Jeff Carter

Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter may be close to a return to action. Carter was cleared to return to practice. He took part in a full morning practice but did not play Thursday against the Dallas Stars.

Carter had surgery on a lacerated ankle tendon back on October 18th and has been out ever since. He has played six games this season and has three assists.

LA Kings To Get Big Boost In Jeff Carter Return

A Jeff Carter return could not come soon enough for the LA Kings. Carter, who has been out since October from surgery, has been a crucial part of the Kings for the past six seasons. The center has helped the Kings win two Stanley Cups in the past six years. Carter was a trade deadline pickup for LA in 2012, a year they would go on to win their first ever Stanley Cup. He has recorded 285 points in 383 games with the Kings. He also has  53 points in 69 playoff games.

Carter is a huge contributor to the Kings top six forward group. They will be more than happy to have him back as their second line center, something they could really use based on their current lineup. Top end finishing talent has been a problem for Los Angeles and Carter will help that.

In 883 career games played, Carter has 339 goals, 314 assists for 653 points. These come with the Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings currently sit one point out of the final wild-card spot in the West, as well as two points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the final spot in the Pacific.

Although there is no exact return date, it sounds as if we will soon see Carter back in a game. Expect the Kings to get a boost from his presence back in the lineup.
