The Winnipeg Jets got some more bad news during the all-star weekend. A report from Winnipeg Sun reporter Ken Wyman indicates that defenceman Jacob Trouba injured his ankle and could be gone for six-to-eight weeks. It is yet another setback for a team that has faced a number of injury issues this season, including being without top centre Mark Scheifele due to a shoulder injury and goaltender Steve Mason to a concussion.

Jacob Trouba out Six to Eight Weeks with Ankle Injury
Trouba hurt his ankle late in overtime against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. The Jets lost the game 4-3 in a shootout.
Trouba, 23, has emerged as a top pairing defenceman for the Jets this season. He is playing over 22 minutes a game this year, including a season-high 27:05 against the Ducks on Thursday. Trouba played 25:41 in Tuesday’s victory over the San Jose Sharks. He has three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 50 games this year. Trouba also has a 50.4 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of +0.2, despite starting most of his shifts in his own end of the ice.
In 321 career NHL games, Trouba has 34 goals, 91 assists and 125 career points. He has also added 237 penalty minutes. Trouba is in his fifth NHL season, all with the Jets. He was originally drafted by Winnipeg in the first round, 9th overall at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
It is expected that Dustin Byfuglien will move back up to the Jets top pair with Josh Morrissey, taking the shutdown match-up minutes that Trouba was playing. The Jets will likely bring rookie defenceman Tucker Poolman out of the press box and back into the lineup as well.
