The 4th Line Hockey Podcast #164 – Outdoor Canada vs USA, Rinaldo Suspended

Outdoor Canada vs USA

Last Word on Hockey presents The 4th Line Hockey Podcast. Coming from Calgary, AB, Carl and Joel provide their own unique and fun view of hockey. Every week the guys share their thoughts on the news of the week, have a variety of guests from the world of hockey as well as spending some time in segments like Joel’s Counselling Couch, The Rant Shack, and The Hot Seat.

The guys are back from their week off for a power shortened episode (sort of), promising for a Bigger and Better 2018.  Before Joel loses power, the guys discuss:

The outdoor game from the World Junior Hockey Championship. Was this the worst hockey game that ever took place? The refs were bad. The TV camera placement was bad. The weather was bad. And the play was bad. Is there anything to actually take away from this game?

The Arizona CoyotesZac Rinaldo was suspended six games for his sucker punch on Colorado Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard. Was this enough of a punishment?

Rounding out the bad news for 2017, the Winnipeg Jets will be without Mark Scheifele for almost 2 months. Can they maintain they performance without him?

Carl is left alone so he picks the Pavel Bure Must Watch Games of the Week, for you to play Hi Sticking with.

To make up for the shortness of this week’s episode, let’s revisit a landmark episode for the show: The Captain’s Royal Rumble. Originally released on July 31, 2016 this is “probably [Joel’s] greatest idea ever for the show”.

Who are Carl and Joel? Carl comes from Calgary, AB. His facial hair of choice is a mustache. His team of choice is the Colorado Avalanche and his smoked meat of choice is brisket. Joel comes from Calgary, AB. His facial hair of choice is a beard. His team of choice is the Toronto Maple Leafs and his smoked meat of choice is ribs.
