Things just are not getting better for the injury-plagued Anaheim Ducks. Head coach Randy Carlyle announced today that the team’s leading scorer Corey Perry is week-to-week with a knee injury. The coach also stated that the team expects more information on Perry, and a better timeline for the injury next week.
Perry suffered the injury during the Ducks 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. During the first period, he collided with Jeff Skinner in the Carolina zone. Following the collision, Perry stayed down on the ice and had to be helped off by the Ducks trainers. He did not return to the game.
INJURY UPDATE: Randy Carlyle said Corey Perry’s evaluation of his lower-body injury puts him at “week-to-week.” He says the team will have a better timeline next week.

Corey Perry out Week-to-Week with a Knee Injury
Perry, 32, has six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 31 games for the Ducks this season. After being drafted by Anaheim in the first round of the 2003 NHL Draft, Perry has spent his entire 13-year NHL career with the team. His best season came in 2010-11 when he scored 50 goals and 98 points and won the Hart Trophy as the MVP of the NHL. Perry also was part of the Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup win, as well as a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist with Team Canada (2010 and 2014).
Perry has been placed on the injured reserve list. The team called up forward Kevin Roy from the San Diego Gulls of the AHL to take Perry’s spot on the roster. The Ducks next game comes on Thursday, as they travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues.
