Jaromir Jagr Signs With Flames

Jaromir Jagr is coming off his 23rd season in the NHL and has shown that he deserves to be around. Jagr scored 16 goals last season coupled with his 30 assists giving him 46 points this past year. Jagr’s stats have declined with age as he scored 20 points less this season than the one before. However the NHL legend thinks he has at least one more year of productive play in the tank.

Even with his declining stats Jagr has proved that he can still be a solid player on most teams in the NHL. Jagr brings with him experience in the playoffs having won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. In his 208 playoff games Jagr has scored 201 points providing consistency in the playoffs. Jagr also is very valuable on the power-play scoring eight goals and five assists last year. The five-time Art Ross winner is certainly on the back-end of his career but will still give a great boost.

Jagr’s most recent contract was a one-year $5,515,000 deal. $4,000,000 was the base deal of Jagr’s contract and included $1,515,000 incentives. Jagr will continue to offer offence but also brings a veteran presence with his 23 years of experience in the NHL. His incredible work ethic can be an inspiration and a teaching tool to the younger members of the team.

The Flames also picked up former New York Rangers Tanner Glass on a one-year contact worth $650’000.

Glass joined the Flames this off-season on a PTO. He spent the last three seasons with the Rangers where he tallied 15 points, in 134 games.
