The three-year deal is worth $12 million and will come with an average annual value or cap hit of $4 million. After spending the last five years in the KHL, Dadonov is returning to the NHL in familiar fashion. The Russian-born winger spent part of the 2010-11 season with the Panthers but failed to earn a regular position with the Panthers at the end of his entry level contract. Dadonov finished the year with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers before heading to the KHL.

Originally drafted by the Panthers in the 2007 NHL Draft (3rd round, 71st overall), Dadonov has found success in his time with the KHL. Most recently playing for SKA Saint Petersburg, Dadonov earned 66 points in 53 games played in 2016-17, including 30 goals. At 28-years-old, Dadonov should have several valuable years left in his game. He has won two championships in the last three years with SKA.

In addition to his KHL play, Dadonov has added accolades thanks to his time with Team Russia. He earned gold medals in 2007 with Russia’s U18 team, with two tallies in the series, and another as an adult in 2014.

Dadonov has played 55 NHL games with 10 goals and 10 assists for a total of 20 points. In 311 KHL contests, Dadonov has earned 112 goals and 128 assists for an impressive 240 points.
