The Colorado Avalanche announced today that they have re-signed forward Sven Andrighetto to a two-year contract.  The deal is reportedly worth $2.8 million and will carry an AAV or cap hit of $1.4 million per season. The Avalanche acquired Andrighetto at the 2017 NHL Trade deadline. They got him from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Andreas Martinsen.

Andrighetto, 24, scored five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 19 games with the Avalanche. It was the best stretch of his career. He also put up two goals and six assists for eight points in 24 games with the Habs last year.

“We were pleased with what Sven added to our team at the end of last season,” said Avalanche executive vice president and general manager Joe Sakic in a team released statement. “He sees the ice well and brings speed and scoring to our lineup. We’re excited to have him under contract.”

The Canadiens drafted Andrighetto in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. In 102 career games, he has 16 goals and 27 assists for 43 career points.

Andrighetto played his junior hockey in the QMJHL, for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Switzerland Native has also spent time with Montreal’s AHL affiliates, the Hamilton Bulldogs and St. John’s Ice Caps.
