We’ve known for some time now that Adidas was going to be taking over Reebok’s position as official NHL jersey supplier. We were given a glimpse of what they have to offer at the World Cup of Hockey. Now Adidas and a few teams are teasing the new sweaters they will don for the upcoming season on social media.

Teams Tease New NHL Adidas Jerseys for 2017-2018 Season

Back in May, hockey fans were given a list from the ever-reliable Chris Creamer of Sportslogos.net stating that over a dozen teams would be receiving some form of jersey tweaks for the upcoming season. This list includes teams such as the Boston Bruins, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Minnesota Wild just to name a few.

Some changes will be major (apparently the Minnesota Wild are in for a makeover), while others may be small tweaks, such as the Colorado Avalanche losing some piping on their sweaters.

It seems as though some teams will just be updating the fabric and nothing more. Teams like the Washington Capitals, Arizona Coyotes, and etc. (based on the images) seem to have no visual alterations done to their pre-existing jersey.

Teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, however, who jumped the gun last season and unveiled new sweaters will continue to wear the same uniforms next season.

A few teams were eager to show off what their new rags are going to look like and took to Twitter with the #FormTheFuture campaign to announce when they’ll be revealed. the Golden Knights will reveal their first jerseys during the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 21st, while the rest of the league will reveal their new jerseys for the upcoming season.

Adidas is taking over jersey responsibilities from Reebok who has been in charge since 2007-2008. Many jersey enthusiasts are hoping they can do a better job than Reebok did. Regardless, it is an entertaining way to kick off the next 100 years of the NHL.
