The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed forward Tanner Pearson. The deal is a four-year contract worth a total of $15 million with an AAV of $3.75 million. Pearson was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1st. The team announced the deal on their twitter account.

The new contract gives Pearson a raise of $2.35 million dollars. The deal will keep him in a Kings uniform until at least the end of the 2020-2021 season.
Pearson was selected by the Kings 30th overall in the 2012 NHL draft. Pearson was 19-years old at the time he was drafted. He is the only player undrafted in his draft year, and re-entry into the draft to ever be drafted in the first round. Pearson played his junior hockey with the Barrie Colts. The Kitchener native recorded 133 points in 126 games over the course of two season with the Colts.
He made his NHL debut in Game 3 of the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2013. The game was against the San Jose Sharks. A year later, Pearson was a key part of the Kings 2014 Stanley Cup title. He recorded 12 points in 24 playoff games. Pearson began the 2014-2015 season with the Kings. However, he only appeared in 42 games, suffering a broken leg on January 11th.
Pearson has only missed five games over the past two season. Pearson is coming off a career year in 2016-2017. The Kings winger scored a career high 24 goals, one of only two Kings players to hit the 20 goal mark. He also recorded a career best 44 points which placed him fourth in points on the Kings roster.
