After acquiring Vancouver Canucks winger Alexandre Burrows less than 24 hours ago. The Ottawa Senators added another winger in Viktor Stalberg from the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2017 third-round pick.

Ottawa Senators added Viktor Stalberg
Once again Stalberg is on a new squad. This trade marks the fifth team the winger has been a part of in the past five years. The 31-year-old has a cap hit of $1.5 million and becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
In his first season in Carolina, the Gothenburg, Sweden native had nine goals, three assists for 12 points in 57 games. The majority of the time Stalberg was playing on fourth line averaging just less than 12 minutes per contest. He put up a 49.64% CorsiFor (-1.3 relative) and 47.49% Fenwick For in that span.
The Senators had numerous injuries to their forward core the past couple weeks, which forced their hands. The addition of Stalberg means more depth, speed and a possible scoring punch on the wing.
The Toronto Maple Leafs originally selected Stalberg in the sixth round of the 2006 NHL Draft. In his nine-year career, the forward has 80 goals, 84 assists for 164 points in 470 games. He captured a Stanley Cup back in 2013 with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Hurricanes continued their rebuild project. The third-round pick they received from the Senators just added to their collection. Carolina has a possible seven picks in the first three rounds of the 2017 draft.
