Alex Galchenyuk to Miss Tuesday’s Game Against Calgary Flames

Montreal Canadiens Centre Alex Galchenyuk has re-aggravated a knee injury and will be sidelined against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.

The injury is not believed to be serious and he is listed as day-to-day.

Galchenyuk returned to the lineup on January 14th against the New York Rangers. This was his fifth game back after missing 18 straight. He suffered the original injury on December 4th against the Los Angeles Kings.

Galchenyuk was injured in Montreal’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. Since returning to the lineup Galchenyuk has recored 2 goals and 2 assists. He has 27 points in 30 games this season.

Other Habs Injuries

The Canadiens still have a number of injuries to key players. Such as, Brendan Gallagher, Andrei Markov, David Desharnais and Greg Pateryn. Gallagher skated with the other three for the first time since injuring his hand back on January 4th. There is no timetable for his return.

Desharnais, Markov and Pateryn have been skating for a few days now but it remains uncertain when they will return to game action.

Habs Are Still Hot

The Habs have gone 6-4-1 so far in the month of January. In that time they have 30 goals for and 34 against. Montreal sits atop the Atlantic Division with 63 points and 4th in the Eastern Conference.
