The Arizona Coyotes have agreed to a two-year deal with restricted free agent Tobias Rieder. Rieder, who played for Team Europe at the recent World Cup of Hockey did not report to Coyotes training camp at the conclusion of the contract. His agent had indicated that he would not show up until a contract was agreed upon. That stumbling block seems to be out of the way now. The deal is expected to be worth $4.45 million, for a cap hit of $2.225 million per year. Bob McKenzie of TSN was first with the news.
Rieder will get $2M in 1st year, $2.45M in 2nd year, so AAV is $2.225. Rieder has now agreed to terms.

Arizona Coyotes and Tobias Rieder Agree to Two-Year Deal
The 23-year-old Rieder scored 14 goals and added 23 assists for 37 points in 82 games last season. He also scored 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points as a rookie in 2014-15. Rieder was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round, 114th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft. The Oilers traded him to the Coyotes at the trade deadline in 2013.
Capable of playing both wings, Rieder had a very good tournament for the surprise European Team. He showed off his speed and defensive ability despite picking up only one assist in six games.
