The Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers have reportedly completed a one-for-one trade today. The trade will see Mike Cammalleri heading to Edmonton in return for Jussi Jokinen.

Both Cammalleri and Jokinen are on one-year deals, so this will have no long-term implications on either organization. The biggest difference between the two of them is that the former has three goals and four assists in 15 games this season and the latter (Jokinen) has one assist in 14 games for the Oilers.
It is unclear on why the Kings would opt to part ways with Cammalleri as he has seemingly been fitting in nicely with the organization.

As stated before, Cammalleri is definitely having the better season of the two with three goals and four assists in 15 games. Cammalleri was in his first season with the Kings before this trade. He is currently signed to a one-year, $1 million deal.
Cammalleri spent the prior three seasons playing with the New Jersey Devils. During this time he had seasons of 42, 38 and 31 points respectively. Despite those totals not being overly impressive, they are made a bit more impressive when you take into account that he played in 68, 42 and 61 games during those seasons.
Jokinen, like Cammalleri, was in his first season with his now former franchise. He spent the prior three season playing with the Florida Panthers. During that time he had seasons of 44, 60 and 28 points. This was in seasons where he played in 81, 81 and 69 games respectively.
So with the two of them only being separated by a few months in age, $100,000 worth of cap space, and Cammalleri looking to have more in the tank, it is easy to see who won this trade. Whether or not it plays out that way remains to be seen, but the Oilers are the initial winners on paper.
