Last Word’s Big 12 week six winners were about as average as human possible. Both the money line and against the spread went 3-3, while the totals only went 2-4. Stop us if this one sounds familiar; the lock of the week also lost. This week presents quite the challenge because there is not a single game in the Big 12 week seven winners that has a spread over 5.5 points. It means great drama for those watching and plenty of sweats to get some winners right. All lines are courtesy of FanDuel.

Big 12 Week Seven Winners
#16 Utah At Arizona State (+5.5)
We know what that Utah is a very different team depending on who the quarterback is. We have (he laughs as he types this) years of data with Cam Rising in the lineup and without. But this selection has nothing to do with that. The Big 12 week seven winners kick off with an upset on Friday night. Arizona State’s rushing attack will test Utah’s defense in a way they haven’t been tested yet this season. The Sun Devils defense will also give a team fits that hasn’t score more than 23 points against a power four team this season. They will be partying hard in the streets of Tempe when this one ends.

Cincinnati At UCF (-3.5)
It has been a rough two weeks for Gus Malzahn and the Knights. They have looked non-competitive in losses to Colorado and Florida. The offensive line has been getting pushed around and the rushing attack this team is built on has been halted. Now, they have a feisty Bearcats team coming to town fresh off a bye week. Cincinnati is only a handful of plays from being undefeated on the season. All signs point to Scott Satterfield’s team coming into the Bounce House and getting a road win. But this has a rebound spot written all over it for the Knights. It will be a high-scoring game between these two. In the end, UCF makes the necessary stop to end their losing streak.

Arizona At #14 BYU (-4.5)
BYU’s resume might be the best in the country as of this publication. The SMU win continues to age better by the week. With Kansas State bouncing back quickly after getting run out of Provo, that victory also is becoming more impressive. They lack a true superstar to grab the national attention it likely deserves at this point. Arizona’s defense is an under-the-radar type unit that should make this a low-scoring affair. Tetairoa McMillan will likely still put up some big receiving numbers. But, just like Texas Tech did last week, BYU will keep the rest of the offense grounded and the Cougars will remain unbeaten.
Moneyline: BYU ATS: BYU Total 49.5: Under
#11 Iowa State At West Virginia (+3.5)
Iowa State has yet to allow more than 21 points in a game this season. This Cyclone defensive unit has not been figured out all season. But Matt Campbell’s team faces their stiffest challenge yet traveling to Morgantown this week. The lowest amount of points Neal Brown’s team has scored in the last four weeks is 32 points. The offense will be able to move the ball some on Iowa State. Backed by the home crowd, not only does West Virginia keep it within the number, but becomes the second underdog to win outright in the Big 12 week seven winners.

#18 Kansas State (-4.5) At Colorado
To cap off Big 12 slate, the Wildcats travel to play a surging Buffalo team. Both teams are coming off a bye week. This game feels like it is going to be just like the North Dakota State game from early in the year. Deion Sander’s team is improved since that week one scare from the Bison. But Chris Klieman brought the same North Dakota State mentality with him when he took over the Kansas State program. The Wildcats are built just like North Dakota State but with more skill and talent. They have defensive players that can run with some of the skill talent Colorado has. It will be a thrilling nightcap of a game. In a high-scoring game, the Wildcats are able to sit on the ball with four minutes left up by six to win the game and cover.
