2021 SEC Best Quarterbacks

2021 SEC Best Quarterbacks

The 2021 SEC Best quarterbacks list will showcase the top returning starters under center for the 2021 season. The conference is loaded with talent across the board. The quarterback position is being looked at as one of the best overall positions in the SEC this season.  As the season nears, these returning starters are set to make a significant impact on the success of their respective teams.

2021 SEC Best Quarterbacks

Myles Brennan – LSU Tigers

Myles Brennan only played in three games in 2020 before suffering a season-ending injury. In those three starts, the Tigers went 1-2, but Brennan showcased signs of a bright future. He was regarded as the next best quarterback in Baton Rouge out of high school. Then Joe Burrow came along for two years. When Brennan finally got his chance, it didn’t last long. He passed for 1,112 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in his three appearances.

But he returns in 2021 locked into a tight competition entering Fall camp. Should he win the job, Tigers fans will be ecstatic about the production and success he can bring to the program. After a 5-5 season in 2020, the Tigers could be headed back on the right path. Brennan will need to stay healthy and earn the starting role to have more success than he did last year.

Bo Nix – Auburn Tigers

Bo Nix is expected to be Auburn’s starter, despite former LSU signal-caller TJ Finley transferring to the Plains to compete for the starting job. Throughout his career, Nix has been better at home than on the road. In 2020, he passed for 2,415 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Nix will have to be more careful with the ball, especially on the road. In Bryan Harsin’s first year as head coach, the success of the Tigers is in Nix’s hands.

J.T. Daniels- Georgia Bulldogs

J.T. Daniels has been highly raved about entering the season. The Georgia Bulldogs starter had to wait to play last season, but he made it count. In 2020, Daniels passed for 1,231 yards with 10 touchdowns and two picks.

As the Bulldogs gear up for another run at the SEC East division title, the play of Daniels will be the deciding factor in their success.

Matt Corral- Ole Miss Rebels

Matt Corral has been the staple of the Ole Miss Rebels offense ever since he earned his first start in the red and blue. Last season, he passed for 3,337 yards with 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He could be an early-season Heisman Trophy sleeper candidate.

Corral’s passing ability is incredible, but his dual-threat ability to run outside of the pocket could place him near the top of the quarterback ranks in 2021.

Connor Bazelak- Missouri Tigers

Connor Bazelak had success at Missouri in 2020 as a Sophomore. He passed for 2,366 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. Sure, his touchdown to interception ratio isn’t stellar. However, he has a chance to improve on that in 2021.

Missouri isn’t expected to be a top team in the SEC East. But Bazelak can have the offense thriving and competing late in games.

The 2021 SEC Best Quarterbacks are anxiously awaiting to get on the field and showcase their talents. As the season draws closer each day, these talented signal-callers will be a big key to their team’s win-loss record for 2021.
