Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive commits. Four-star quarterback and Florida commit Carlos Del Rio has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for the Gators as Del Rio is one of the top quarterbacks in the class. Del Rio is one of two quarterbacks the Gators will sign in their 2021 recruiting class. Three-star QB Jalen Kitna will also be signing with Florida on Wednesday. He will also be enrolling early at the University of Florida.
Who is Carlos Del Rio?
Carlos Del Rio is a four-star quarterback out of Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. The Florida quarterback commit is one of the top pro-style quarterbacks in the country. Meanwhile, he was a tough get for the Gators as he has offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. To clarify, during his recruitment, Del Rio signed with Florida over Arizona State, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.
Additionally, on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Del Ro is the 139th ranked recruit and the eleventh ranked pro-style quarterback in the country. On ESPN, Del Rio is the 57th ranked recruit and the eleventh ranked pro-style quarterback in the country.
The Gators have added another top quarterback who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early enrollee, Del Rio will get to Florida in January. He will get the chance to learn the playbook quickly. It is important to realize Del Rio will be in the same quarterback room with Emory Jones, Anthony Richardson, and Jalen Kitna.
