Keyvone Lee Signs with Penn State
Four-star running back Keyvone Lee signs with Penn State on early signing day. Lee will enter a talented running back room for the Nittany Lions that has all four backs returning next season. The Clearwater, Florida product had 26 offers with Florida, Alabama, and LSU among them. He took one official visit according to 24Sports and that was to Penn State back in April. Further, Lee visited Florida and Florida State unofficially in June before committing to the Nittany Lions in August.
Lee Breakdown
Penn State running back coach Ja’Juan Seider has been getting talented running backs to venture north for several years now. Lee is the next in a long train of talent to join the group. All four running backs are returning for the Nittany Lions next season, with Noah Cain being the clear fan favorite to gain the starting role. The fact that there are four talented backs in the room likely will not rattle Lee though. The thing that will set Lee apart? He is great out of the backfield as a pass catcher. This is something that Penn State has rarely utilized since Saquon Barkley wore Blue and White.
Lee is a versatile back. He is shifty in space, but can also be an every down guy. He has good vision, something that will serve him well playing in the Big Ten. Finally, the good thing about Lee is that he will have time to develop behind talented guys, but also has the ability to contribute right away. It will be interesting to see how he fits and how much playing time he receives nest season.
