Ohio State Signs Julian Fleming
Ohio State signs Julian Fleming, the top-rated wide receiver and second overall in the 2020 class according to 247Sports. Five Star Fleming signed Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period. The headliner of a stacked class for wide receiver coach Brian Hartline, Fleming has all the physical attributes of the next great wide-out to wear the Scarlet and Gray. Fleming chose Ohio State over in-state school Penn State, Alabama, and Clemson in a Twitter announcement video in May.

Fleming is Pennsylvania’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions with 78 and receiving yards with 548. For his Senior season, Fleming hauled in an eye-popping 22 touchdowns. Fleming was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Pennsylvania and one of three national finalists for the award.
Standing at six feet two inches Fleming weighs 200 lbs. and is an exceptional athlete for his size. At The Opening Finals Fleming tested off the charts running a 4.45 forty yard dash, 4.01 Shuttle drill and recorded a 40-inch vertical leap. Fleming has a great ability to separate off the point of contact using his size and quickness. He is an adept route runner with sharp cuts in and out of his break and should be about to contribute immediately in the Big Ten.
Position of Need
Fleming will look to make an immediate impact for the Buckeyes at a position of need. Ohio State will lose three of its top five at the position. Seniors K.J. Hill, Binjimin Victor, and Austin Mack will all try to move on to play on Sundays. The trio of Seniors accounted for 104 receptions and 1,411 yards and 19 touchdowns. There should be plenty of work available for Fleming if he proves to be ready. Expect him to be worked into the offense early like five-star freshmen Garret Wilson was this season.
