Tre’Vez Johnson Signs With Florida

All-American DE Jeremiah Williams

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top defensive commits. Three-star safety Tre’Vez Johnson has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a nice signing for Florida as Florida was the first big school to offer the underrated safety. Notably, Mullen likes Johnson’s skill set as he’s a great fit and can really make an impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future. In fact, Johnson is one of three safeties that’ll sign with the Florida Gators 2020 recruiting class with Mordecai McDaniel and Rashad Torrence II.

Who is Tre’Vez Johnson?

In fact, Johnson is a three-star safety out of Bartram Trail High School in Jacksonville, Florida. The Florida cornerback commit is one of the top defensive recruits in the state of Florida. Johnson really took off in recruiting after his tremendous senior season. Johnson signed with Florida over Army, Boston College, Clemson, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech.

First, on 247 Sports, Johnson is the 237th ranked recruit and the 23rd ranked safety in the country. Comparatively, on Rivals, Johnson is the 61st ranked cornerback in the country. But, the Gators have added a solid safety who could really make an impact in the future. Important to note, being an early signee, Johnson is locked in the Florida Gators 2020 recruiting class. Additionally, Mullen and his coaching staff got a steal here as Johnson was vastly underrated before Florida landed his commitment over the summer.
