Brenden Bates 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile

Brenden Bates 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile

In his five years at Kentucky Mark Stoops has made two states a recruiting priority Florida and Ohio. Currently twelve of the Wildcats’ 20 commitments come from those two states. One of the most highly touted players in the 2018 class is tight end Brenden Bates.

The six foot five 220 pound tight end out of traditional power Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller ranks very high by all the major recruiting services. Bates currently sits as the 19th best player in the state of Ohio by Rivals and 20th best tight end in the country. Furthermore Bates ranks as the number 11 tight end in the country by ESPN.

Bates committed to Kentucky back in March of 2017. He chose the Cats over hometown school Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and West Virginia. In a ceremony at his school Wednesday morning Bates signed his letter to attend Kentucky.

Under tight end coach and recruiting ace Vince Marrow Bates can be brought along slowly. The Cats have one of the best tight ends in the SEC in senior to be C.J. Conrad. In addition Kentucky has junior Justin Rigg who will more than likely be the second tight end. While he could play some as a freshman Kentucky doesn’t need to rush him.

Another Tight End Commit For 2018

Along with Bates the Cats have another tight end commit for 2018 in Keaton Upshaw. He is another of the five players from the state of Ohio in this years’ class. Upshaw ranks just behind Bates as the 26th best tight end in the country by Rivals. The Cats are going to be in good hands over the next few years.
